I love to champion a good cause. When something speaks to me, I typically shout it from the rooftops in the hopes that all of my friends and followers will hear it. In the case of this post, I am championing a cause and a talent. About a week ago, I attended a luncheon for Beit T’shuvah, a drug and alcohol rehabilitation center here in Los Angeles. This organization was honoring my friend Judy Flesh, who has volunteered her time as an art therapist for over twenty years. The luncheon was held at The Four Seasons Hotel and many of my friends attended, both in support of our remarkable friend Judy and the incredible center that has helped so many people overcome their addictions. Before we headed in for the luncheon, there was a lovely boutique featuring clothes, housewares and accessories for sale; twenty percent of the sales were donated back to Beit T’Shuvah. I wasn’t particularly in a “shopping mood,” but I thought I would peruse the wares… after all, it was going to a good cause. It was here that I met the wonderfully talented jewelry and clothing designer, Cathryn Wagner. Cathryn, a former costume designer for film and TV, decided to switch career gears and began designing her own jewelry and clothing. I immediately fell in love with her Chanel charm bracelets, in which she repurposed a number of zipper pulls and buttons from vintage Chanel clothing and created these one of a kind bracelets and necklaces. As a “matchy-matchy” girl, I was immediately drawn to the one I am wearing in the photos since it matched my dress perfectly. Cathryn told me that after showing her collection at a charity event and selling nearly all of the items, she knew that she was onto something. Her jewelry can be found mainly at the Beverly Hills boutique called Jami Lynn. Cathryn has also ventured out into clothing design, and I will be featuring some of her clothes on the blog in the very near future. But for now, if you are interested in looking at her line, you can either visit or call the Jami Lynn Boutique here in Los Angeles. I always love a good find and in this case, I am the champion!
What fabulous colors in this dress. I know what you mean, it’s way more fun to support the good causes!! Even when you don’t feel like shopping (rare…)
