Here is the tale of how a potential fashion disaster became a fashion success. I found this beautiful Sandro dress at Bloomingdale’s. I loved the lace brocade and the sheer back panel, all of which I found to be very franchaise. The only problem was the plunging neckline and unpadded front cups.
In days of yore, I might have been able to get away with this free and breezy cut, but at the age of fifty-seven, it was definitely not a green-lit fashion situation. I’m not one to surrender without a fight, so I had an idea. If I asked the tailor to sew padding into the cups and close up the front to reveal only a slight amount of cleavage, perhaps I could then solve the revealing problem. As you can see from the finished product, the task was accomplished successfully! Below is a selfie I took in the tailor’s dressing room. The look on my face depicts my reaction to the revealing nature of the dress.
What an incredible dress, Lesley!! I have learned first hand through my mom, how a little alteration here and there can make almost anything better!!!
