Rad any good books lately? Over the holidays, I read Daisy Jones And The Six, and thoroughly enjoyed it. The story takes place in Los Angeles, in the late 1960s and early 1970s, and covers the rise of a rock and roll band. Sex, drugs and rock and roll keep those pages turning. But it was the format that author Taylor Jenkins Reid chose, that resonated with me and kept those pages turning. It was written in an interview format à la Rolling Stone magazine, which I found unique and original.
I decided to re-enact the story in an Instagram reels, as I borrowed Yale’s guitar and donned my pink Gucci cowboy hat, a suede fringe shawl that I picked up in Todos Santos, my retro sunglasses by Sabine Be, faded wide-leg flared jeans from Primp Boutique, and a graphic tee by Suzy Roher.
Much of the story takes place at the famous Whisky A Go Go, located on the Sunset Strip in Los Angeles. It was quite the scene in the 1960s and 1970s and remains popular today. We went down there to shoot the reels, and when they let me film on stage, I was delighted. It had always been my dream to perform at The Whisky, though I never imagined I would get on that stage as an influencer/content creator!
Hi Lesley,
Have a lovely Passover.
Congratulations on getting your act together
on getting things done and ordered ahead of time. It removes the “stress bucket” to do list
and adds maybe years to your life.
I love the look of how you decked yourself out. So much fun, I’ve decided you are the fun girl full of life. A great way to be.
On a total different subject. Do you happen to ever watch “Sunday Morning”? There was an interview with Neil Diamond. Like many girls I had a crush on him. His voice still to this day I think he is so wonderful. The interview was so touching I shed way too many tears. It breaks my heart that he has Parkinson’s. He will always be “the man in blue jeans.” Maybe you guys are friends because he lives in La La Land too.
