Finding the perfect mascara is a constant quest for any makeup junkie, yours truly is at the top of that list! At the risk of bursting your bubble, there is no “perfect” mascara; there are mascaras that lengthen and ones that thicken, ones that are all derived from natural ingredients, and those that are waterproof. it all depends on what you are looking for in mascara. Here is my round-up of my seven favorite mascaras, plus a must-have lash primer.
Chanel La Base Mascara: Lash Primer
This is hands down a must-have for everyone. Just one coat of this lash-enhancing primer will provide the perfect base for your mascara. It strengthens your lashes with Provitamin B5 and meadowfoam oil protects your lashes. Apply your favorite mascara directly and immediately on top of this primer.
Chanel Le Volume De Chanel
If you are looking for a tried and true luxury brand, then Chanel is your brand. When combined with the primer, this mascara separates and thickens your lashes beautifully while retaining a natural look.
Chantecaille Faux Cils Mascara
What I love about this mascara is that it smells like a garden of roses! And as soon as it doesn’t, toss it! Although it is pricey, the bristle brush separates, volumizes, and lengthens; there is no clumping and it is buildable. Rich in mineral salts, the Red Seaweed Extract helps define lashes while vegetal polymers promote an effortless application. It also contains Rose Ol, which conditions your lashes.
By Terry Terrybly Growth Booster Mascara
When used consistently, this mascara, which contains a patented lash serum, activates growth from the root to the tip. In order to see dramatic results in terms of lash building and lengthening several oats need to be applied. However, if you after a very natural look, (and sometimes I do not wish to look too “made up”), then I will reach for this mascara.
City Beauty Beyond Mascara
I consider this a Fabulesley cult classic. It has been my go-to for voluminous long lashes. The transformation from before to after is legendary in all of my Instagram posts! I cannot recommend it enough!!
Ilia Limitless Lengthening Mascara
This mascara is my everyday go-to. I love it because it lengthens and separates beautiful and does not clump…ever! It is buildable depending on the amount of drama you are looking to create. This mascara ranks high on my list, and Ilia is a Clean Beauty brand.
Jane Iredale Beyond Lash Mascara
Jane Iredale is a clean beauty brand that I love and trust, This mascara is brand new and it is fantastic. It lengthens and volumizes all at once. Its hourglass-shaped wand is responsible for these dramatic results. The formula is 98% chemical-free! It conditions your lashes as it enhances them. Ophthalmologist tested. Safe for contact lens wearers. This is a mascara that works hard at keeping you safe and chemical-free. Added bonus: It stays put…no under-eye smudging!
Beauty Counter Think Big Mascara
Another clean beauty brand, Beauty Counter’s Think Big Mascara is the closest you will come to that false eyelash look yet remaining incredibly clean and healthy. That is because of its Tripeptide Technology: A blend of lash-care conditioners helps lashes appear longer, fuller, and stronger. It also contains Panthenol (provitamin B5): which nourishes and conditions lashes, while biotinoyl-tripeptide helps support stronger, healthier-looking lashes.
