Yes To Shorts over 50!

Here are my thoughts about wearing shorts after a “certain age.” I wouldn’t be caught dead in micro mini cutoff shorts that allow for uncensored peek-a-boo moments from the rearview. However, if the style is flattering and it flatters my leg, then I will definitely be caught wearing them. I think it depends on one’s comfort level and not adherence to a strict fashion rule. The only fashion rule that applies for me always begins and ends with confidence. When a woman feels good in something, then she will likely wear it with confidence.

I have owned these shorts by Worth New York for several years. I love them so much that I have them in black as well. They are easy to wear because they fit like a trouser, and their width through the thigh is easy and flattering.

This week was a hot one in Los Angeles, with the temperatures reaching into the high 80’s. I wore these shorts while running errands. I decided to pair it with this lovely patterned blouse by Sandro, because its loose fit provided cool comfort. These shoes by Nicholas Atwood are tried and true and pick up the blue at the top. I brought out my blue Michael Kor’s tote since I wanted to match the bag with the shoes.

Whether you decide to wear shorts is entirely up to you. Confidence is key when saying “yes” to any item of clothing. That is the only fashion rule that needs to apply.
